Eric Fabre - Former Château Lafite Rothschild winemaker After eight years as Technical Director of Château Lafite Rothschild, Eric decided to move South and make a new wine in the Languedoc - South of France. Château Rivière le Haut is located on the sea-side of the exclusive mountain of La Clape, a nature conservation area on the shores of the Mediterranean in the Languedoc, South of France. The vineyard is planted in limestone screes bringing minerality to the wines. It also benefits from the sunny weather of the South of France for good maturity of the grapes and cool breeze coming from the sea for balance. The wines are made with respect for environment according to ASCERT charter.
Deep red colour with hints of black. Complex bouquet with a blend of ripe red and black fruits, spices, licorice and tobacco flavours hilghlighted by the typical minty touch of La Clape. Full-bodied and elegant mouth structured by dense and remarkably silky tannins. Great lengh endowed with a nice freshness. Ageing potential: Fresh and fruity when young, gaining more complexity after 5-10 years. Potential of 15-20 years.
