Château Moulin de la Rivière has a 13 hectare vineyard which is spread over the municipalities of Civrac (clay-limestone soils) and Ordonnac (clay and gravel), in the Bordeaux appellation of Médoc.
Château Moulin de la Rivière is part of négociant’s «Révélations» range. In association with world-renowned consultant oenologist Hubert de Boüard (co-owner of Château Angélus, 1er Grand Cru Classé A of Saint-Emilion), he created a wine enlivened by fruity and vegetal scents. Notes of blackcurrant, licorice and a woody touch are found on the palate, supported by a rather firm tannic structure.
Tasting: An expressive and fruity bouquet, with scents of Morello cherry mingling with raspberry and hints of smoked caramel. Upon swirling there are floral notes of peony as well as pepper with liquorice. The attack is fresh and well balanced and gives way to full-bodied and slightly toasted flavours of fruits (blackcurrant, Morello cherry).
Serve with grilled ribs, a pen-fried tournedos or well-aged cheese.
