La Grange Brûlée, is the original name of the property, and the surrounding hamlet. Evidently, the Grange did burn! We no longer know how it happened, as it was in the distant past (before 1750).
This wine is made principally from the Merlot grape. Easy to drink, it is intended to bring out the fresh qualities of the merlot fruit. To achieve this, we keep the macerations short and avoid too heavy a structure. The ageing is done only in stainless steel, with no oak, for between 8 to 10 months.
