Appellation: AOP Côte de Provence
Grape Variety: Syrah, Mourvèdre blend
Domaine de la Navicelle is in the heart of Provence on the northern slope of a massif called the Black Colle, on the edge of the conservatory of the coast. The vines are in terraces on heavy clay soils and a rocky subsoil of limestone, sandstone and shale. The north orientation and the proximity of the Colle Noire protects us from the heat and allows us, without resorting to irrigation, to obtain rich, complex wines with a nice freshness and a "terroir" identity.
Zephir – The domaine’s high-end wine and a great wine for cellar-ageing.
Made from the domaine’s finest Syrah and Mourvèdre, the full-bodied, deep ruby red wine presents a nose of black fruit, spice (liquorice, pepper) and cocoa. The broad palate reveals elegant tannins shaped by the wine’s 18 months’ ageing in barrel, and lovely length. Excellent cellar-ageing potential
Tasting: The color is dark ruby red. The nose is powerful and complex on blackberry, flowers and sweet spices. The palate has a nice suppleness, freshness and powerful tannins, on the powerful black fruit. Ideal with Provencal dishes and spicy dishes.
